Dr. Ma will provide a overview of public speaking skills, and move on in explaining the issue of pacing in delivering lectures and providing key terms with correct pronunciation. If you are a faculty member new to EMI or interested in improving your lectures, sign up for this workshop.

Description:
This workshop will introduce how to use GenAI to enhance EMI students’ English reading comprehension for professional content learning. It covers summarizing, contextual understanding, transitioning from skimming to intensive reading, and designing self‐study reading materials through tool applications and hands‐on practice. The workshop emphasizes using GenAI effectively without over‐reliance, enabling students to boost self‐efficacy while upholding academic ethics.

Topic: Two Hats, One Question: Experiencing EMI Through QFT EMI 教學的雙重視角:運用QFT 啟動深度學習
Facilitator: Yi-Hung Liao 廖宜虹 國立屏東大學大武山學院副教授
Description:
This workshop immerses participants in EMI teaching from two perspectives, integrating QFT (Question Formulation Technique) to foster deep learning. Participants will switch roles between “students” and “observers”, actively experiencing an EMI lesson before analyzing it using QFT. By combining role shifts and structured questioning, this workshop helps educators better understand classroom interactions and refine EMI strategies for enhanced engagement and sustainability
