To heighten the school's teaching results and establish professional role models of teachers' teaching, NSYSU especially institutes the Outstanding and Excellent Teaching Award Selection Procedure. According to the procedure, each of the colleges could recommend the teachers who are rated in the top 20% of the Survey of Student Opinions on Instructional Quality in the previous semester to be the candidates of the Outstanding Teaching Award of that school year. In each school year, there will only be at most 3 teachers presented with the Outstanding Teaching Award, and at most 12 teachers presented with the Excellent Teaching Award. Each recipient of the Outstanding Teaching Award will receive NT$120,000 as a reward; recipient of the Excellent Teaching Award, 60,000. A certificate and the reward money will be given to the recipients in a public occasion by the principal, to cite their outstanding teaching results.
